On 30 April Director General of the Police Janko Goršek received two police officers before they left for Palestine where they will work for the EUPOL COPPS mission.

This is the first time Slovenia's police participate in the EUPOL COPPS civil mission in Palestine. Officers Robert Urek and Gregor Hodnik departed on 7 May. In Palestine they will be serving as advisers on police matters.

The aim of the mission is to contribute to the establishment of sustainable and effective policing arrangements and to advise Palestinian counterparts in accordance with best international standards and in cooperation with the EU institutions and institution-building programmes conducted by the European Commission.
