On February 4, 2020, Fox News posted the following information about the city of Celje, Slovenia, in their Top 10 deadliest European cities news: "Celje, the third-largest city in Slovenia, had a murder rate of 2.6 per 100,000 in 2017, however, it carried a population of only about 38,000 that year within city limits."

That information is incorrect.

No murder or manslaughter cases were reported in the city of Celje in 2017. In this period, the police dealt with only one criminal offence of attempted manslaughter which, statistically, does not count as an accomplished/completed crime. Celje is a safe city by all standards of security.

We have also requested the authors of the mentioned article to correct the information and to apologize for their inaccurate reporting.
