The amended Ordinance on the temporary partial restriction of movement of people and on the restriction or prohibition of gathering of people to prevent the spread of COVID-19, which enters into force on 25 December 2020, introduces a new exemption for crossing municipality boundaries within statistical regions – outdoor sporting activity.

However, users of Covid-19 tracing #OstaniZdrav app will no longer be exempt from the restriction of movement to the municipality of residence.

Sporting activity a new exemption allowing the crossing of municipality boundaries within regions

An individual or persons from the same household may travel between municipalities within the statistical region of their residence in order to engage in individual outdoor sporting activity or recreation outside built-up areas, provided they follow the recommendations of the National Institute of Public Health.

There are still 13 exceptions in place for travelling between municipalities (and the requirement to demonstrate them with a declaration and appropriate supporting documents).

Use of Covid-19 tracing #OstaniZdrav app no longer a prerequisite for travelling between municipalities

In the Ordinance on the provisional prohibition on the offering and sale of goods and services to consumers in the Republic of Slovenia (Official Gazette RS, no. 193/20), which is in effect from 24 December 2020 through to 4 January 2021, the dispensation for the statistical regions with the best epidemiological situation was abolished, therefore the provision of Article 6 of the Ordinance on the temporary partial restriction of movement of people and on the restriction or prohibition of gathering of people to prevent the spread of COVID-19 (Official Gazette RS, no. 193/20) is also deleted. The amended Ordinance no longer requires the use of Covid-19 tracing #OstaniZdrav app in order to travel between municipalities within a statistical region.
