The Government adopted a new Ordinance determining the conditions of entry into Slovenia to contain and control the COVID-19 infectious disease. The ordinance became effective on 12 April 2021 and introduces some changes concerning the exceptions for entry into Slovenia.

The morning operating hours of the Neblo checkpoint have been changed. Now, PCR test certificates and medical certificates on recovery from COVID-19 issued in the U.S. and the United Kingdom are also considered valid. Vaccines have been specifically defined.

The exceptions to the quarantine and a negative PCR test also include accredited journalists on a business trip abroad, and persons entering Slovenia for urgent reasons related to the elimination of an imminent risk to health, life or property or the occurrence of material damage who exit the country within 12 hours of entry.

Instead of daily commuting cross-border workers, commuting cross-border workers and persons posted to carry out tasks abroad are eligible for quarantine-free entry into Slovenia on presenting a negative PCR or rapid antigen test taken within the last seven days, provided that they return within five days of crossing the border.

The red list of EU Member States and the Schengen Area countries has been changed in respect of Austria, Denmark and Spain. The red list of third countries remains unchanged.
