The forthcoming Schengen evaluation visits were also discussed, which is where the Slovenian air border, and then, maritime and land border management will be assessed. Extensive preparations have been made for these missions. Further, Slovenia presented the strategic positions of its police force in integrated border management. In general, the Slovenian police have been significantly engaged in the development and operation of Frontex (the European agency for the operational cooperation at the external borders of EU member states) since the Agency's early days.
