On 28 February Minister of the Interior Dr Vinko Gorenak and Director General of the Police Janko Goršek received Slovenian ski jumpers Robert Kranjec, Jernej Damjan and Jurij Tepeš, who are among the top athletes employed with the Police.

At the 22nd FIS Ski Flying World Championship in Vikersund the Slovenian ski jumping team achieved a historic success by winning a gold and a bronze medal. On 25 February Robert Kranjec became a world ski flying champion and achieved the greatest success of his career. Only a day later Slovenia won team bronze. The team consisted of Robert Kranjec, Jurij Tepeš and Jernej Damjan, who are all employed with the Top Athletes Section of the Slovenian police, and Jure Šinkovec.

Minister Gorenak expressed his joy at our ski jumping team's success and said he was proud that they were employed with the Police. He promised to try to keep it this way. Director General of the Police Janko Goršek also congratulated the ski jumpers on their achievement. Together they wished Robert Kranjec, Jernej Damjan and Jurij Tepeš a lot of success in the future
