Brdo pri Kranju is hosting an international conference of police chiefs of South-Eastern European countries, which started on 4 September.

In the framework of the Police Cooperation Convention for Southeast Europepolice chiefs devoted most attention to an exchange of good practices and new possibilities of implementing the Convention provisions in practice. The conference is also attended by Interior Minister Dr Gregor Virant and Director General of the Police Stanislav Veniger.
IMG 6049Police chiefs discussed the priorities of the fight against organised crime and other serious forms of crime, successful coordination and cooperation of law enforcement authorities, minority policies, efficient exchange of operational information as well as providing security during major sporting events. This year's meeting was parallel to the meeting of border police heads. A big part of the meeting was devoted to an exchange of experience and information for the provision of security in organising major events, including providing security before and during European basketball championship.
