On 12 February 2026, police officers Robert Majc and Robert KanÄŤal from the Murska Sobota Compensatory Measures Police Station were carrying out temporary border control at the Pince border crossing on the A5 motorway when they noticed a woman suddenly collapse in a nearby car park.

A man standing next to her began calling for help, prompting the officers to run to the scene, where they quickly established that the woman showed no signs of life. They immediately began basic life support and alerted emergency medical services. They continued chest compressions until the arrival of paramedics, successfully restoring her heartbeat. Further resuscitation procedures were then taken over by the medical team from the Lendava Community Health Centre.
It was later established that the 63-year-old French national had suffered a cardiac arrest. After receiving first aid, she was transported by ambulance to the Murska Sobota General Hospital for further treatment.
The Police commend the officers for their swift, professional and compassionate response.
