Police officers partook at the annual 64th Agra International Agricultural and Food Fair held between 22 and 26 August 2026 at the exhibition centre in Gornja Radgona.

Franci Matoz, Minister for the Interior and Public Administration, and Mitja Jager, Assistant Director-General of the Police, visited the police officers at their booth. They watched the police presentation and expressed their satisfaction that the police continue to be present at the annual agricultural fair.

The Agra fair offers an excellent opportunity for the officers to engage directly with members of the public, exchange information and raise awareness on the importance of road safety, safety in rural areas and safety and protection of people and their property.

Visitors and a police officer

Over the course of the five-day fair, the police booth was visited by many visitors, who had the opportunity to view a police patrol motorbike, try out the ‘drunk goggles’, which simulate the effects of alcohol on person’s abilities, and take a breathalyser test. The youngest visitors were especially impressed with the police motorbike as their parents were happy to take their photos with the exhibit.

An important part of the event was also devoted to crime prevention on farms. A criminal police investigator was available at all times to advise visitors on preventive measures to protect crops, livestock and other property from theft.

Opportunities for studying and employment with the police force were also presented to those interested, along with the information about the enrolment to the Police College, where the deadline for the second application was 27 August.
