Deputy Director General of the Police Matjaž Šinkovec today received two police officers who are to leave on Monday for the international peacekeeping mission in Georgia.
The purpose of the EUMM international peacekeeping mission in Georgia, which the Slovenian police has participated in since January 2009 by seconding its first two police officers, is to contribute to the stability of the situation in the country and the surrounding region.
The police officers, who are to carry out their duties at observation posts in Gori Field Office, left for the international mission on 10 October 2011. Deputy Director General of the Police Matjaž Šinkovec wished them the best of luck and a peaceful eighteen-month term of duty.
