Welcome to the web application "Enter Slovenia"

Travel to countries or administrative units of countries on the red list is prohibited for persons residing in the Republic of Slovenia, except for two general exceptions (persons who have recovered from COVID-19 or have been vaccinated) and all special exceptions. The checkpoints on-road connections at the internal borders are divided into two categories:

From 15th May 2021 onwards, if a person sent to quarantine at home upon entry into the Republic of Slovenia is tested by PCR for the presence of SARS-CoV-2 during the quarantine period and the test result is negative, the quarantine shall be deemed to have been terminated. Testing may first be performed on the fifth day after referral to quarantine at home.

The year 2020 presented us with a great challenge of stopping the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus. The race with the virus has restricted our movement due to the closure of state borders. In order to enable the easiest and most transparent trip abroad and to the Republic of Slovenia, we have prepared an application that facilitates entry to Slovenia - especially understanding the exceptions set by Ordinances of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia. As we depend on the publication of the Ordinances, we could be up to an hour late in updating the application, so we ask you to be patient with us when the changes are announced.

The Republic of Slovenia has implemented EU Council Recommendation on the temporary restriction on non-essential travel into the UE and the possible lifting of such restriction. Passengers, third-country nationals, must meet the conditions set out in Article 6 of the Schengen Borders Code when entering the country. At the same time passengers from third countries who are on the “red list” need to prove the necessity of their travel to Slovenia at the entry or at any Police control when already in the country. As travel for tourism is unadvised and due to still closed touristic infrastructure not possible, we ask the passengers to think thoroughly before any travel to Slovenia. Visiting friends or not immediate family members, any outside sport activities, sightseeing etc. is seen as touristic travel. You can read more on non-essential travel here:

Citizens of the European Union or citizens of Schengen countries must have a valid travel document with them when entering the country (applies to all ages of passengers, including the youngest children).

The application guides the user through the purposes of travel (business or private), entry into the country for the purpose of residence or just transit. Upon entry for the purpose of stay, it leads through the conditions of entry according to the currently valid Ordinance, the conditions for the use of exceptions or how entry takes place without the use of an exception (referral to quarantine at home).

After completing the last part with personal data, a form is created that the user can either print or save on their phone / tablet and show it at the border control or at the control on the territory of Slovenia, which will facilitate and speed up the control.

The entered personal data is not stored and is automatically deleted after the form is created.
