Before each ride, the motorcyclist should check visually and always in the same sequence that everything is in place.

Motorcyclists

All motorcyclists are advised to be extremely careful and to adjust their driving speed to the road conditions!

This is especially true in the spring, at the beginning of the motorcycle season, when the asphalt surface is still cold and does not allow optimal grip of the tires, and due to the winter, there can be a lot of potholes and sand on the road from winter sprinkling. Motorcyclists should also be aware that their motorcycle handling skills are probably still not at the level of those of the previous year.

Here are a number of useful tips for motorcyclists:

  • Before driving, check the air pressure in the tires and warm them up properly during the first kilometers of driving.
  • Use a protective motorcycle helmet consistently when driving. Fasten it properly. A clear visor gives you the visibility you need.
  • motoristDo not forget to wear a special suit with protectors.
  • The motorcycle is narrow, so at higher speeds, other road users can quickly overlook you. Your speed should be appropriate for the circumstances, so that others will notice you in time, and you will notice them as well.
  • Make sure you are as visible as possible. Always keep the lights on on the motorcycle. Wear protective clothing with as many reflectors (stickers, strips) and a light-colored helmet as possible. Also wear a reflective vest.
  • When driving through a left turn, move away from the dividing line in the middle of the carriageway, otherwise your head will also rush a meter deep into the carriageway for oncoming traffic.
  • Adjust the speed and driving style of the motorcycles especially in the first minutes of rain.
  • If your motorcycle does not have an ABS brake system, do not brake on the floor markings in the rain or on slippery roads.
  • Try to avoid asphalt surfaces which are covered by sand, spilt oil or similar (especially in a turn).
  • Reaction time in ideal conditions is 0.6 - 0.8 seconds, in road trafficon average 1 second, and with an uncollected or tired driver for 2 seconds or more.
  • Braking distance to full stop is 40 meters at the speed of 100 km/h. The stopping distance is the sum of the reaction and braking distances.

Do not drive if you are under the influence of alcohol, other drugs, psychoactive medicine or if you are tired.
Otherwise, this can quickly become your last ride.
