International civil missions
Slovenian police officers also participate in international civil missions under the auspices of various international organisations. They perform demanding advisory, operational and leadership tasks in numerous crisis spots around the world, contributing to greater regional and global stability and security. They have gained important peacekeeping experience in various countries and cultures, thus contributing to greater awareness of the importance of peacekeeping missions for maintaining world peace and security and non- violent resolutions of international conflicts.

CEPOL's national unit
The European Union Agency for Law Enforcement Training – CEPOL is an agency dedicated to develop, implement and coordinate training for law enforcement officials across the EU, including not only police ofcers, but also customs officials, judiciary and border guards. It provides direct support to EU internal security, from combatting terrorism and organised crime, to fighting drugs trade, human trafficking and other direct threats to citizens. CEPOL's Slovenian National Unit is located at the Slovenian Police Academy.
