Slovenian police officers take part at the 2026 European Police Championships Marathon in the Czech Republic
A team of Slovenian police officers took part in the 2026 USPE European Police Championships Marathon, held from 1 to 4 May as part of the Prague Marathon. The latter attracted around 16,000 runners, including around 190 police officers from 22 countries.

We strongly support the top athletes and coaches employed by the Police
Minister of the Interior Branko Zlobko and Director General of the Police Damjan PetriÄŤ held a reception for the top Slovenian athletes and coaches employed by the Police. They particularly thanked alpine skier Ilka Ĺ tuhec, who concluded her professional sports career this year. Ski jumping champions Nika and Domen Prevc were awarded the Silver Shield of the Police for outstanding achievements and their contribution to promotion of the Police.

Stay calm and safe, even in traffic jams
In recent days, two serious road accidents have occurred on the Primorska motorway, causing complete closures lasting several hours and severe traffic congestion. Such incidents and heavy post-holiday traffic put an extra strain on drivers, which is reflected in driver frustration and fatigue.
