The Director-General of the Police, Jože Romšek, today, 1 October 2008, received six police officers to be deployed to the EULEX International Civil Mission in Kosovo on 5 October 2008. The reception was held on the premises of the General Police Directorate. The police officers will serve in Kosovo for one year.
The reception was also attended by Helena Jagodic, a member of the inter-ministerial working group for the implementation of the Secondment of Personnel to International Civilian Missions and International Organisations Act and president of the committee for police; Tatjana Bobnar, MSc, Deputy Director of the Criminal Police Directorate; Darko Lesjak, activity coordinator within the Peacekeeping Missions Section; and Marko Gašperlin, Deputy Director of the Uniformed Police Directorate.
Participants in the mission (in the photograph):
- Gorazd Dreisiebner, a police officer at Šentilj Police Station, employed with the Police since 1992. He participated in the UNMIK mission in 2004 and 2005.
- Miran Šribar, a policeman and criminal police officer at Brnik Airport Police Station. He has been employed by the Police since 1988. He participated in the UNMIK mission from 2001 to 2003.
- Gregor Simerl, senior criminal police officer with the Criminal Investigation Police Section of Police Directorate Maribor. He has been employed by the Police since 1995. He participated in the UNMIK mission in 2005 and 2006.
- Štefan Skalar, senior police inspector with the Office of the Director-General of Police at the General Police Directorate. He has been employed by the Police since 1985. In 2001 and 2002 he served in the OSCE mission in Kosovo, and from 2002 to 2003 in the EUPM mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
- Damir Hojnik, a policeman and criminal police officer at Celje Police Station. He has been employed by the Police since 1995 and has not yet served in a mission.
- Boštjan Kreže, senior police inspector with the Uniformed Police Directorate of the General Police Directorate. He has been employed (non-continuously) by the Police since 1991. He participated in the UNMIK mission from 2000 to 2003 and has been engaged in the mission since 2007.
