The Government of the Republic of Slovenia adopted amendments to the Ordinance determining the conditions of entry into the Republic of Slovenia to contain and control Covid-19, which entered into force on 5 February 2021. New rules will stay in force until 12 February 2021.

Major changes

  • Less exempt categories for entering Slovenia without having to quarantine or show a negative test. There are now ten exempt categories. Travellers from these categories are not required to quarantine or produce a negative test.
  • Travellers from certain exempt categories can now enter Slovenia free of quarantine, but they have to produce a negative test (PCR or rapid antigen test), which is not older than seven days. There are four exempt categories that are no longer classified as no-quarantine entry or entry without a negative test. These four categories of travellers now have to show a negative Covid-19 test, which is not older than seven days of taking the swab.

However, each person who does not fall into any of the exempt categories will be required to undergo a 10-day home quarantine upon entry unless this person submits a negative PCR test (not older than 48 hours after the swab was taken) or a rapid antigen test (which should not be older than 24 hours after the swab was taken). Home quarantine may be terminated at any time by a negative test (PCR or rapid antigen test). Which tests are recognised as relevant?
