On 13 October 2025, Director General of the Police Damjan Petrič, Minister of the Interior Boštjan Poklukar, Ajdovščina Mayor Tadej Beočanin, and Director of the Nova Gorica Police Directorate Robert Berginc laid the foundation stone for the new Ajdovščina Police Station at the Logistics Centre in Goriška cesta in Ajdovščina.
The construction of the new station will solve the overcrowding problem and provide Ajdovščina police officers with better working and safety conditions for even more effective performance of their tasks. The new building and location will provide everything that the current building and location in the compact city centre lack, both for employees and residents.
The plan envisages the construction of modern, standard-compliant business premises with a total area of 1,500 square meters, including all the necessary spaces for the police and parking areas for visitors and employees, as well as adequate transport accessibility. The new building will be located near the airfield and the newly opened fire and rescue centre, and will also have easy access to the expressway.
