Acting Director General of the Police Damjan PetriÄŤ received the delivery of the new electric vehicle Renault R4 E-Tech on behalf of the Police in Ljubljana on 30 September 2025. Slovenian police will be testing the vehicle over the next 24 months.

The vehicle is equipped with special patrol equipment and distinctive police colours, and police officers will use it in their daily tasks to ensure the safety of citizens.

During the test period, the police will collect information on the performance of electric vehicles in urban environments, especially in city centres and tourist areas, and examine how electric vehicles could be integrated into the police fleet.

Handover of the vehicle

"This car is not just a technological tool, but a symbol of our commitment to sustainability and care for the environment. By using electric vehicles, the police force too will contribute to reduction of our carbon footprint and help improve air quality in our cities," PetriÄŤ noted in his brief address.

The electric vehicle will be used across the entire Slovenia, as all eight Police Directorates will be taking turns in testing it until the end of the two-year period.

Omejec receives car keys

Tomislav Omejec, Director of the Ljubljana Police Directorate that will be the first to test the vehicle, received the keys of the new electric vehicle on the Directorate's behalf.
