External borders fund
Annual programme 2010
In the project frame the purchase of new and replacement of damaged border check stamps, purchase of 50 digital cameras, purchase of 20 handheld TETRA radio stations and purchase of protective equipment for police officers from Maritime Police Station Koper who perform border checks at cargo ships in Port of Koper was made.
Border check stamps are necessary for the fulfilment of legal obligations from Schengen Borders Code to stamp all third country nationals? passports. Handheld TETRA radio stations improved mobility of police officers and their communication while performing police duties outside the vehicles. Digital cameras are used for documentation of some police procedures and preparing of materials for training. Police officers from Maritime Police Station Koper can now perform border checks at cargo ships in Port of Koper safer and more effective.
Costs of the project amount to 40.510,54 EUR. EU co-funded the project from External Borders Fund in the amount of 30.382,90 EUR, which is 75%.
