Implementation of digital radio system in border areas is very important, because with this are established conditions for communications which are needed by mobile public safety users. With digital radio network construction are replaced different old and outdated analogue radio networks. New digital radio system also abolishes disadvantages of old networks and assures additional functionalities.


It has been purchased base station which was installed on mountain location Nova vas and with that has been established radio coverage on Primorska border area (Dragonja area). In project frame has been purchased also repeater which was installed on international airport Maribor and with that has been offered to users the indoor communication.

 

Project results are as follows: improved radio coverage, preventing radio communication eavesdropping, improved border control effectiveness, higher border control quality, diverting illegal crossings of border.

 

Costs of the project amount to 93.743,22 EUR. EU co-funded the project from External Borders Fund in the amount of 70.307,41 EUR, which is 75%.
