Slovenian police are receiving reports about the spread of fake emails sent by online fraudsters in their name. We once again urge you to be cautious. Do not respond to these messages.
These are unsolicited "spam" emails sent to various randomly selected email addresses. The content and the allegations are entirely fabricated. Fraudsters use the logos and signatures of the Slovenian police, as well as those of Europol and Interpol, to make the emails appear legitimate and to intimidate recipients into transferring money.
If you receive such an email, do not reply to it; delete it from your inbox. Do not open any attachments, click on any links, or share your personal information. Mark the received email as spam.
If you have suffered any financial loss, we advise you to report the incident to your nearest police station and bring all available documentation with you.

An example of attempted fraud and misuse of the name of the Slovenian police
In recent years, Slovenian police have observed an increase in emails (in various forms) sent by online fraudsters to a large number of email addresses with the aim of establishing contact. The fictitious allegations usually escalate as the fraudsters seek to obtain money from the recipients.
