Representatives of the police and the Interior Ministry on 30 October 2008 paid their respects to fellow police officers killed in the Slovenian war for independence at a short ceremony on Remembrance Day.
Secretary General at the Interior Ministry, Elda Gregorič-Rogelj, Police Director General Jože Romšek, assistant director of the Criminal PoliceDirectorate at the General Police Directorate, Robert Črepinko, assistant director of the Uniformed Police Directorate at the General Police Directorete, Davorin Bratuž, and the vice-president of the Sever Association, Tomaž Čas, laid a laurel wreath at the memorial to police officers killed in 1991 in front of the Interior Ministry.
The ceremony was also attended by police officers and officials of the police and the Interior Ministry.
Representatives of the police also paid their respects, laid wreaths and lit candles for those killed fighting for independence at a commemoration in front of the monument at the central Ljubljana cemetery in Žale.
