The official part of the ceremony was followed by ceremonial opening of the new National Forensic Laboratory building, which is one of the few major investments of the Police in the recent period. Forensic science has advanced markedly in the last two decades, making criminal investigations faster and more reliable than ever. Every police force needs a modern and well-equipped laboratory, which can at any moment perform forensic examinations needed to explain a criminal offence and apprehend the perpetrator.
