Experts from Slovenia's Ministry of the Interior and the police co-taught the fourth workshop on the use of joint investigation teams to combat human trafficking in the Western Balkans, which concluded on 10 July in Skopje.
The workshop was designed to provide Macedonian prosecutors and police officers at a local level with an insight into the concept of joint investigation teams (JIT). The workshop looked at their use and methods of establishment, relevant national and international legislation in force, a case study, and Europol's and Eurojust's supporting role in setting up and running JITs.
