The three-day programme, which included lectures, case presentations and a wrap-up roundtable on common operational and systemic challenges, was attended by more than 80 participants from the police and other competent authorities from Slovenia.

The event brought together national and international experts from the police, prosecutor's offices and other competent authorities with the aim of strengthening inter-institutional cooperation and improving the effectiveness of the detection, investigation and prosecution of criminal offences related to fraud, corruption and other forms of economic crime in connection with European funds.

Particular attention was paid to identifying complex patterns of fraud against European funds, analysing links between cases, tracing cash flows, cross-border investigations within the European Public Prosecutor's Office and the use of modern investigative tools, including artificial intelligence.

The conference conclusions emphasised the need to strengthen the relevant mechanisms within the competent administrative and supervisory authorities for detecting and consistently reporting criminal offences involving the misuse of European funds to the competent European Public Prosecutor's Office and the police.
