NLB Muza, in collaboration with a wide network of Slovenian and international partners, has launched a temporary exhibition titled Money and Crime: A Never-Ending Race, now on view at NLB Muza (Äopova 3, Ljubljana). The exhibition opened on 31 March 2026 and will run until 8 February 2027.
This multidisciplinary project was brought to life through the cooperation of several institutions, including the Policeâspecifically the Criminal Police Directorate, the National Forensic Laboratory, and the Police Museum.
The exhibition takes visitors on a compelling journey through the historical evolution of financial fraud, tracing its roots from ancient civilisations to todayâs sophisticated digital schemes. Its primary objective is to raise public awareness of contemporary scams and empower individuals with the knowledge to protect themselves effectively.
The exhibition presents an exceptionally diverse collection. Visitors can view remains of an ATM destroyed by an explosion, as well as a diverse collection of counterfeit coins and banknotes dating back to the Roman empire. The exhibition also highlights some of the most notorious robberies in Slovenia and places particular emphasis on modern cybercrime, including deepfake technology and personal stories shared by victims of fraud.
In an increasingly digitized world, this exhibition serves as an educational resource for strengthening financial vigilance. We invite the public to explore this unique intersection of history, law enforcement, and technology at NLB Muza until early 2027.
