The 93rd General Assembly of INTERPOL, the International Criminal Police Organization, was held in Marrakesh from 24 to 27 November 2025. The event brought together more than 800 delegates, including ministers, police chiefs, and senior law enforcement officials from 179 member countries.

The Slovenian police force was represented by Jože Senica, Deputy Director General of the Police; Matjaž Jerkič, Director of the Criminal Police Directorate at the General Police Directorate; and Borut Selan, Head of the International Police Cooperation Division within the Criminal Police Directorate.

In addition to approving the organization’s programme of activities, strategic framework, and budget, the Assembly addressed a wide range of issues, including the identification and disruption of transnational organized crime, dismantling international scam centres, expansion of INTERPOL’s global policing capabilities, advancing the role of women in policing, Silver Notice pilot project results, and promoting the ratification of the United Nations Convention against Cybercrime.

The Assembly also elected a new President of INTERPOL—Lucas Philippe, European and International Affairs Advisor to the Director General of the French National Police—as well as new members of the Executive Committee.

To enhance operational support to member countries through more efficient information exchange and analysis, participants were introduced to two new INTERPOL tools that apply artificial intelligence: Nexus and Ava.
