The work of the police within this working group was presented by Deputy Director General of the Police Tatjana Bobnar, who was herself a member of the Group. She said that good cooperation and striving to achieve inter-agency synergy were of crucial importance for work in this field. "There are no more untouchables. This fact is supported by statistical data for last year, when the police investigated 27.1 per cent more cases of economic crime." Ms Bobnar also stressed the importance of setting up specialised investigation groups, such as the one for investigating dealings of majority state-owned banks. As for plans for the future, she said that the priority will continue to be investigating criminal offences in the banking sector, healthcare and pharmacy, energy industry as well as drawing on the European funds.
