Don't let the bright sun blind you

The bright sunlight and glare can momentarily blind drivers, motorbike riders, cyclists and pedestrians, creating hazardous situations. Ensuring adequate shading is advised.

Before driving, air out the vehicle and switch on air conditioning

Temperatures in a sun-exposed vehicle can exceed 50 degrees Celsius, affecting the safety and focus of the driver. Even if you are feeling well, make sure to first thoroughly air out the vehicle before driving. Feeling tired? Do not get behind the wheel!

Rest is essential for all road users, whether on a long or short journey. When signs of fatigue and drowsiness appear, such as yawning, frequent squinting, loss of attention or an overwhelming feeling of needing a rest, stop in a safe place as soon as possible and rest until you are in an adequate psycho-physical state.

Focused and tolerant drivers contribute to better road safety

Heat can also affect focus. It is important to keep this in mind and make sure you can control your reactions to everyday heavy traffic and congestions. Remember that we are all using the roads on equal terms. Let's be tolerant of other road users.
