Slovenian police officers who participate in the UNMIK mission (United Nations Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo) in Kosovo received decorations on 17 April 2008.

Kosovo01Decorations were handed out on behalf of the UNMIK mission by Bojan Lunežnik, a secretary at the Secretariat of the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Slovenia, Karol Turk Msc., the director of the Police Administration Maribor, and Marko Rode, the head of the peacekeeping missions division of the Uniformed Police Administration at the General Police Administration.

Decorations were given to Boštjan Velički, Peter Voršič, Niko Avgustinčič and Aleš Vidgaj for their participation in the UNMIK mission in Kosovo. Other members of the contingent, who had already participated in the mission and received medals, were given awards.

The ceremony was also attended by representatives of the Kosovo police, the UNMIK mission, the Slovenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Slovenian Armed Forces.
