The Government of the Republic of Slovenia adopted today, 7 September, a decision to appoint as of 8 September 2023 Senad Jušić to the post of the Director General of the Police for a five-year term of office, with the possibility of reappointment. With effect from the date of his appointment, Senad Jušić is given the first-grade title of Senior Police Superintendent.

SenadJusic 1 izrezArticle 47 of the Organisation and Work of the Police Act provides that the Director General of the Police shall be appointed by the Government on the proposal of the Minister. The procedure is subject to the provisions of the act regulating the system of public employees. Pursuant to Article 82 of the Public Employees Act, the position of director of a body within a ministry is acquired by means of an appointment decision. The directors of bodies within ministries are appointed by the Government on the proposal of the relevant minister or holder of public office.

A special competition commission appointed by the Council of Officials to conduct the special appointment procedure for the post of Director General of the Police informed Minister of the Interior Boštjan Poklukar that Senad Jušić is suitable for the post. The Minister of the Interior then proposed to the Government that Senad Jušić be appointed to the post of Director General of the Police.
