On 15 and 16 February 2024, the Director General of the Police, Senad Jušić, hosted his North Macedonian counterpart, the Director of the Public Security Bureau of North Macedonia, Sasho Tasevski.
The Director of the Public Security Bureau was also received by the Minister of the Interior, Boštjan Poklukar, who underlined that Slovenia and North Macedonia are friendly countries and that the cooperation between the two ministries and police forces is excellent.

During the meeting, Jušić and Tasevski discussed in detail the cooperation between the Slovenian and North Macedonian police in all areas of work. They agreed with Minister Poklukar's observation that the cooperation between the two police forces is excellent, and the work of the Slovenian police attaché in Skopje, who completed his term of office at the end of last year, has certainly contributed to this. The new police attaché will be deployed in Skopje shortly.

"Police experts are involved in a project to strengthen the rule of law in North Macedonia and in a project to combat migrant smuggling and trafficking in human beings. These are all projects that directly deliver good operational results and we look forward to building on the fight against all forms of crime and security threats in the region," summed up Director General Jušić.

Director Tasevski and the delegation visited some of the Slovenian police units. He visited the National Forensic Laboratory, the Special Unit and the Air Support Unit, and also familiarised himself with the work of the National Bureau of Investigation.

At the end of his visit, Tasevski expressed his satisfaction with the assistance offered by the Slovenian police to the North Macedonian police, expressing the hope that the good cooperation would be further strengthened in the future.
