Today, 29 May 2008, representatives of Ukrainian national institutions for combating corruption visited the General Police Directorate at Štefanova 2 in Ljubljana.
Members of the Ukrainian delegation met representatives of the department for combating corruption at the Criminal Police Directorate. They became acquainted with the situation with regard to corruption in Slovenia, the legal framework for combating corruption by state authorities, the organisational structure of the General Police Directorate, and the organisation of the department for combating corruption at the Criminal Police Directorate.
Moreover, the Slovenian criminal investigators acquainted their guests with the organisational scheme of investigating authorities and with the methods and forms of work in combating corruption. They were particularly interested in the method of staffing in the unit for combating corruption. So, the representatives from the department for combating corruption acquainted them with the assessment system and career system in the Slovenian Police. They were very satisfied with the presentation and expressed their interest in further cooperation in police activities and combating corruption, which is much more frequent and wider spread in Ukraine than in Slovenia.
