As part of a Europe-wide coordinated increase in bus checks, Slovenian police officers stopped and checked 44 buses, of which 28 were foreign. Most of the violations detected were related to speeding and the use of tachographs and seat belts.

Within the framework of the Europe-wide international Campaign Mermaid, which took place between 25 and 31 July under the aegis of TISPOL (the European Traffic Police Network), Slovenian officers carried out increased bus checks on Friday, 29 July 2011.

One driver was banned from further driving while five vehicles were temporarily removed from the road.

A total of 15 and 20 violations were committed by domestic and foreign carriers respectively.
