Director General of the Police Janko Goršek received Antonio Jeseničnik and Janez Rojko, two police officers who carried out police duties in Croatia between 15 July and 15 August 2011.

Based on the agreement between the Slovenian and Croatian governments on cross-border police cooperation and the protocol between the ministries of the interior of the two countries on cooperation between police officers in Croatia during the tourist season, the two Slovenian Police officers were sent to Croatia.

The police officers performed their duties in cooperation with the Croatian officers and took their orders from the police station commander with local jurisdiction. They participated in those police procedures where Slovenian citizens were dealt with by Croatian officers, mainly facilitating communication. The two officers were uniformed but unarmed, and they did not exercise their police powers or impose any measures.

Antonio Jeseničnik, Assistant Commander of Ljubljana Bežigrad Police Station, worked in the Istra Police Directorate area. Between 15 July and 1 August, he worked in Pulj, after which he continued his work in Poreč until 15 August.

Janez Rojko, Community Policing Officer at Ptuj Police Station, worked in the Primorsko-Goranska Police Directorate area, namely the island of Krk, between 15 July and 1 August, after which he continued work on the island of Lošinj until 15 August.

After completing their engagement, the two police officers commended the partnership with their Croatian colleagues and, given their extremely positive experience, suggested that this type of cooperation should be further strengthened. At the same time, they made some proposals for improvements and raised some issues they encountered during the course of their work.
