On 3 October, Director General of the Police Stanislav Veniger received 19 police officers experts in border policing who completed their engagement in eight joint operations of the agency Frontex this year.

The cooperation between the Slovenian Police and Frontex has been active since the agency's establishment. So far a total of 161 Slovenian officers have taken part in Frontex joint operations and pilot projects at sea, air and, particularly, land borders. In addition, three officers are currently policing at one of the EU borders. Between 30 and 40 Slovenian officers take part in Frontex activities at the Schengen external borders every year.
