The European Transport Safety Council has presented Slovenia with the 2015 Road Safety Performance Index award for being the most successful country in Europe in the field of road traffic safety.
Since 2001 Slovenia has reduced annual road deaths by 61%.
Last year, there were on average 51 deaths per one million people in the EU member states, and 52 in Slovenia.
