In Ljubljana, Acting Director General of the Police Matjaž Šinkovec received former Swiss Police Attache in Rome Hans Peter Marthaler and his successor.

The Slovenian police has excellent international legal base for cooperation, which was further improved with the appointment of a Police Attache in Rome, who also covers Slovenia. Cooperation is excellent both in operative matters and at other levels. The Police Attache Hans Peter Marthaler will conclude his term of office in Rome in late February and will be succeeded.

The first meeting between Director General of the Slovenian Police with the Director of the Federal Office of Police of the Swiss Confederation was held last July in Ljubljana, and the main topics of the meeting were evaluation of cooperation so far, implementation of agreements on crime repression and readmission, Schengen evaluation and Euro 2008.
