Between 19 and 21 May 2008, the Slovenian Police will host the Meeting of the Governing Board of the European Police College (CEPOL) in Bled.
Besides Nevenka TomoviÄŤ, Chair of CEPOL Governing Board,and her colleagues from the Police College, the meeting will be attended by the representatives of police training institutions of the Member States and the Associated States and the representatives of the European Commission.
After the meeting, on Wednesday, 21 May 2008 at 1 p.m., Nevenka TomoviÄŤ, Chair of CEPOL Governing Board, and Ulf Goeransson, Director of CEPOL, will give statements to the media about the meeting and its main topics at the Golf Hotel, Bled.
CEPOL, the European Police College established as a European Union Agency by Council Decision 2005/681/JHA, acts as a network of the national police training colleges of the Member States. It was established to support the training of senior police officers. CEPOL supports and develops a European approach to the key problems faced by the Member States in fighting crime, crime prevention and maintaining law and order and public security, notably in respect of the cross-border implications of those issues.
The Governing Board of CEPOL is the authority responsible for taking CEPOL's important operational decisions. It is chaired by a representative of the Member State holding the EU Council Presidency. The 12th meeting of the Governing Board will focus on the 2007 work report of CEPOL and the evaluation of the work undertaken.
The report, which will now be discussed for the first time and will finally be adopted under the French Presidency, details which activities set out in the work programme (which was finally approved under the Finnish Presidency) have been completed to date, the outcome of the activities and the financial resources spent.

La police nationale slovene organisera une réunion du Conseil d'administration du College européen de police (CEPOL) qui aura lieu du 19 au 21 mai 2008, a Bled.
La réunion sera présidée par Mme Nevenka Tomovič, présidente du Conseil d'administration du CEPOL, et rassemblera les représentants de l'Académie slovene de police, des établissements de formation de police des États membres et des pays associés ainsi que les représentants de la Commission européenne.
Le mercredi 21 mars 2008, a 13 heures, a l'Hôtel Golf de Bled, a l'issue de la réunion, Mme Nevenka Tomovič et M. Ulf Goeransson, directeur du CEPOL, feront une déclaration a la presse sur la réunion et les principaux sujets de discussion.
Le College européen de police (CEPOL) a été établi en tant qu'agence européenne par la Décision du Conseil UE 2005/681/JAI, et met en réseau les Académies de police des États membres. Il avait été crée afin de contribuer a la formation des hauts officiers de police. Le CEPOL soutient et développe l'approche européenne des problemes centraux auxquels se heurtent les États membres dans leur lutte contre la criminalité et dans la prévention, dans le maintien de l'ordre et de la sécurité publics notamment en ce qui concerne la dimension transfrontaliere de ces problemes.
Le conseil d'administration du CEPOL est un organe qui prend des décisions importantes pour le fonctionnement de cette institution. Il est présidé par l'État membre exerçant la présidence du Conseil de l'UE. La 12e réunion du Conseil d'administration portera sur le rapport d'activité de 2007 et sur l'évaluation des missions effectuées.
Le rapport, qui sera discuté pour la premiere fois lors de cette réunion et sera adopté durant la présidence française, présente les objectifs réalisés du programme de travail adopté durant la présidence finlandaise, les résultats atteints et les moyens financiers utilisés.
