Director General of the Police Janko Goršek today received four police officers who are to leave for the EULEX mission in Kosovo on 2 October 2011 for one year.
The police officers leaving for Kosovo have an extremely wide range of skills and a great deal of experience in international cooperation.
The Slovenian Police have been participating in the EULEX mission in Kosovo since 21 April 2008. They carry out tasks in the special unit, the operations and communications centre, border surveillance, the criminal intelligence unit, the analytical service and in the investigation of organised crime and war crimes.
The objective of the EULEX mission, which was established in 2008, is to assist and support the Kosovo authorities in developing the rule of law, specifically with regard to the police, judiciary and customs. The mission is working to develop and strengthen an independent and multi-ethnic judicial system and a multi-ethnic police and customs service.
