On 10 November 2011, Europe's police chiefs met in Warsaw, Poland. The meeting was also attended by Director General of the Police Janko Goršek.

At the meeting organised by the Polish Presidency of the EU Council, the police chiefs highlighted specific key areas in policing which will require special attention in the future.


On the margins of the meeting, Director General of the Police Janko Goršek met with Ilko Laitinen, Director of Frontex (the European Agency for the Management of Operational Cooperation at the External Borders of the EU). They discussed the current situation at the external Schengen border, which is also Slovenia's responsibility.

Director General of the Police Janko Goršek took the opportunity to visit the representatives of the Slovenian Border Police who have been deployed to Frontex: Matjaž Jančič, who works at the Joint Operation Unit of the Land Border Sector, and Simon Kelenc, who works at the Risk Analysis Unit of the Analysis and Planning Sector.
