As part of the conference to mark the Right to Know Day held in Ljubljana today, its organiser, the Information Commissioner conferred the Transparency Ambassador Award to the Slovenian police.

As it said in the grounds for the award, the police were conferred this award because they had demonstrated that they are able to correctly assess in complex situations what is public and what is not, they rarely feature in Information Commissioner's procedures and when they do, most of the initiatives are unfounded. The Police function well in the area of proactive transparency by making public events, data and analyses.
