The 23 European Judo Championships held in Chelyabinsk, Russia, between 26 and 28 April, were attended by four top athletes serving in the police force.
Judo fighter Rok Drakšič won bronze in the under-66kg category, showing his good shape for the London Olympics. Police officers Sašo Jereb (in the under-73kg category) and Aljaž Sedej (in the under-81kg) tried hard but were beaten by their opponents in the initial bouts. Although Petra Nareks' track record already shows six medals from other European competitions, this time she failed to produce a strong performance and stayed behind top competitors.
