Mitja Jager, previously Assistant Director of the Criminal Police Directorate, assumed the duties of Assistant Director General of the Police on 15 April 2026.
His focus within the police leadership will be on drafting legislation, addressing the most challenging organisational, personnel, and systemic tasks, and collaborating with other stakeholders to ensure security in Slovenia.
Within the police leadership, Jager replaced Jože Senica, who has been heading the Corporate Security Department at Europol in The Hague since March 1.
